The Bolivian men’s and women’s teams had a great performance this Friday during the third round of the Copa Los Andes South American Team Championship taking place in Buenos Aires, Argentina, by adding points that made them climb positions.
The men’s team rose to fifth place with five points, while the women’s team is eighth with three.
On this day the final holes of the second round were completed and the third was played 100 percent, which will leave the fourth and final hole for Saturday to define the final positions.
The contest is held on the Pilar Golf course, where the men’s team, composed of Flavio Sameja, Vicente Quiroga, Camilo Ávila, Benjamín Chávez and José Luis Montaño, competed with Uruguay and Argentina.
The boys had a great performance by winning the duels against both nations and in both cases they won 8-4, which gave them four points to add to what they already had and reach a total of five.
This Saturday the men will finish their participation against Chile and Peru, direct rivals who are fighting to be in a better position, since the Inca have the same number of units as Bolivia, while the Trans-Andeans are eighth with four.
The women’s team, made up of Florencia Cuéllar, Victoria Suárez, Mara Dajer, Sofía Blanco and Constanza Quiroga, faced Ecuador and Argentina.
They had a good performance against the Ecuadorians and won 10-2, while against the Argentines they lost by the same result.
The girls obtained two points and added to what they already had they reached three.
On Saturday they will close their foray into the Copa Los Andes against Uruguay and Peru, who are higher in the standings.
The Inca are third with nine and the Charrúas are sixth with four.
