With 10 votes in favor and one against, Claudia Arlett Espino was appointed executive secretary of the National Electoral Institute (INE), for the period 2024-2028, after 20 months of this position being occupied by office managers.
The proposal of the president of the INE, Guadalupe Taddei, was accepted with reservations and even conditions by her colleagues, who with different approaches stressed that they give a vote of confidence
in order to strengthen the collegiality of the institute, but not a blank check

The only one who did not approve the appointment was counselor Carla Humphrey Jordan, pointing out that the proposed person has pending legal matters.
Without making specific mentions – such as the resolution of the Administrative Justice Court of Chihuahua, which disqualified her for 90 days for alleged irregular purchases when she was president of the local electoral institute (2021-2022) – she indicated that the management position of the entire structure of the INE requires compliance complete, without question
of all requirements.
