Maduro extends nominations for Justices of the Peace until Sunday

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, proposed extending the nominations of the Justices of the Peace until Sunday, December 1, taking into account that during the weekend are the days in which “there is more communal life.”

“I make the proposal to you on behalf of thousands who are watching us and who want to apply, because we are going to have a beautiful, happy day: Sunday, December 15,” stressed the first national leader this Thursday on the podcast “Maduro Live Suddenly.”

He also recalled that this date is commemorative of the 25 years of the approval, by the Venezuelan people, of the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.

“The people gave the Bolivarian character to our Republic, what a beautiful thing, in tribute to the legacy of our Liberator, of the founding fathers and mothers,” he exalted.

Maduro stressed that the people will come out on December 15 to vote for a new State, for a new justice and for the peace of their community.

High community participation

The head of state highlighted the incorporation of almost 10 thousand Community Councils that did not participate in the popular consultation processes for community projects.

“It means that when we start in 2025 we will have at least 5,297 Community Circuits and almost 47,000 grassroots Community Councils participating in the four consultations next year to allocate resources to them,” he pointed out.

In this regard, the minister for the CommunesÁngel Prado, detailed that 5,297 Communal Circuits will participate in the elections of Justices of the Peace, of which 97% have at least one electoral center.

He noted that the goal is to have at least 30 people nominated as candidates, to elect 15 thousand main judges with their respective alternates.
