Director of Qali Warma resigns after complaints about spoiled food

The director of the Qali Warma program, Pedro Ripalda, submitted his resignation after multiple complaints about spoiled food that was distributed to low-income schoolchildren in the country.

The scandal over the poor quality of the food and the corruption surrounding the companies supplying the products were the trigger for Ripalda to make the decision to leave office, despite the fact that three days ago he had ruled out resigning.

“It is clear that the discovery of an unscrupulous and corrupt company that violated the processes of the regional and national health authorities, as well as those of the program, should never be tolerated again,” says Ripalda in a letter addressed to the Minister of Development and Social Inclusion, Julio Demartini.

“This situation has generated deep indignation, rejection and condemnation in me that I have expressed publicly, because these criminal practices have affected the most vulnerable and sensitive population in the country,” says the now former director of Qali Warma, who asked that the perpetrators be punished. responsible “with the full weight of the law.”

In the letter, Ripalda states that he is resigning from the position because he cannot allow his position to be used “as an instrument to question or harm the noble work carried out by this program that is so essential for Peruvian children.”
