The Autonomous University of Santo Domingo (UASD) granted this Thursday to the president Luis Rodolfo Abinader Corona the title of doctor honoris causa for his contributions to democracy, institutions, transparency and the defense of the Dominican State.
This is the third recognition of this category that the ruler receives from a house of higher education for his contributions to different areas of society.
During the ceremony, the representatives of the Primacy of America highlighted the important support of the leader to the aforementioned universityamong which stands out an investment in extension centers and offices that amounts to 1.6 billion pesos in the last four years.
In his speech gratitudethe president highlighted the contributions of the academy for the training of citizens and reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the democracy.

He first leader assured, “with humility, but also with pride,” that no government has bet so much on the UASD.
Other contributions of president to the study house in the last four years have been the transfer of around 308,000 square meters of land in the eastern region of the country, the donation and remodeling of infrastructurethe disbursement of special funds and the extension of the modality of experimental high schools at the pre-university level.
The rector of the UASD, Editrudis Beltrán, expressed his gratitude to Abinader for the support given to the institution he directs and to all the academies of education superior.

The designation of president Abinader was approved in the last meeting of the Cloister Minor of the entity and is contained in resolution 2024-293, of October 25 of this year.

With this awardAbinader becomes, for the third time, a doctor honoris causa of one university national.
On October 13, 2023, the head of the first state magistrate received the title of doctor honoris causa in Public Policies for the Technological University of the South (Utesur)for having taken into account the institutions of education superior in their educational policies.
The distinction is contained in the resolution of the Utesur Board of Directors, in a meeting held on October 29, 2022.
On November 23, the ISA Universityfrom Santiago, granted the president the title of doctor honoris causa in Agroindustrial Sciences, such as recognition to his outstanding leadership in the transformation of the agroindustrial and educational sector in the country.
He event coincided with the 52nd graduation ordinary course of the institution, where 324 students obtained their academic degrees in various disciplines.
