Civil Aeronautics reported that it is investigating an incident that occurred this Wednesday at the Matecaña Airport in Pereira. The event involves an aircraft that had to suspend its takeoff.

According to a statement issued by Aerocivil, the investigation is being carried out by its Accident Investigation Technical Directorate.
Preliminary information indicates that it is an Avianca A320 type plane that began a flight between the capital of Risaralda and Bogotá. Due, apparently, to a failure in one of its engines, He had to postpone his takeoff on the runway.

The entity clarified that the aircraft stopped safely and that All 164 passengers and four crew on board were evacuated and transferred to the airport terminal. In addition, it was indicated that no injuries were reported among the occupants.
