Santiago, RD. – The Christmas Breeze is already walking the streets of Santiago and the entire Northern region after the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, activated the Christmas Bonus and opened the “Christmas of Change” program.
The Government’s initiatives to accompany Dominican families and make this festive season even more significant, were launched simultaneously in the National District and Santo Domingo Norte (SDN), Santiago and Santo Domingo Este (SDE), in events led by the president of the Republic, Luis Abinader; Vice President Peña and the country’s first lady, Raquel Arbaje, respectively.
“This year, we begin again in Santiago, with the commitment to once again accompany all our communities on this beautiful day that seeks to bring Christmas joy to every corner of our nation.“, expressed Raquel Peña at the inaugurations.
The vice president indicated that President Abinader has always believed in a government close to its people and it is with that spirit that these programs such as the Christmas Bonus arrive, which will benefit more than three million Dominicans, ensuring that each home can enjoy these holidays with joy and dignity.
He also revealed the return of the traditional Christmas Village in the gardens of the Cibao theater, and in Santo Domingo, along with the Christmas Parks in several provinces of the country.
Christmas Bonus
Regarding the implementation of the Christmas Bonus, this will impact Dominicans residing in the country who were identified through the Supérate program, which leads this initiative, and the Single Beneficiary System (Siuben).
The economic support will be delivered during the remaining week of November and the month of December in the amount of 1,500 pesos for 3,000,000 households.
In 2024, the number of beneficiaries was expanded to ensure that a greater number of families receive this financial support.
Christmas of Change
Meanwhile, the programChristmas of Change«, which is organized through the Economic Kitchens of the Dominican State (CEED), will distribute more than 10 million portions of Christmas lunches and dinners this year.
These meetings in the communities are managed through social organizations and neighborhood associations throughout the national geography.
In addition, 400,000 ration kits will be delivered that include Christmas products and 300 mobile kitchens will be deployed.
