Consumers interested in negotiating outstanding bank debts have until next Saturday (30) to join the Negotiation and Financial Guidance Task Force promoted by the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban) in partnership with the Central Bank (BC), the National Consumer Secretariat ( Senacon) and Procons across the country and involves more than 160 financial institutions, in addition to partner entities. Serasa also participates through Feirão Limpa Nome.
To join you need to have a silver or gold account. Debts on credit cards, special checks, payroll loans and other types of credit taken out from banks and financial institutions, which are in arrears and do not have assets pledged as collateral, nor prescribed debts, can be negotiated. Participating banks offer installments, discounts on the value of the debt or even reduced interest rates for refinancing, depending on their credit policy.
“Now, the country’s two biggest debt negotiation events complement each other to strengthen the fight against default and prevent over-indebtedness. In addition to negotiations, consumers will have access to free content on financial education, which will help them have a healthier relationship with their finances”, said the executive director of Financial Citizenship at Febraban, Amaury Oliva.
Negotiations can be made through the banks’ remote channel and through the platform ConsumerGovBr. It is also possible to negotiate at participating Procons until Friday, in person; Via Serasa, via the website or app; at post offices, until the end of the festival, on Friday.
