National Assembly agrees to repudiate US sanctions against Nicaragua

This Tuesday the National Assembly approved an agreement in repudiation of the illegitimate and illegal unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States against Nicaragua.

The project “Agreement in Repudiation of the illegitimate and illegal unilateral coercive measures imposed by North American Imperialism against the Republic of Nicaragua”, will be delivered to the Nicaraguan Embassy in Caracas.

Deputy Pedro Carreño pointed out that the intensification of sanctions is due to the forceful actions that Nicaragua has taken to dismantle the attacks against peace, stability and well-being.

Carreño denounced that it is the same format that they have used in Venezuela, which was warned years ago by Commander Hugo Chávez as a soft blow.

He said that in the face of this new aggression, the Government and people of Nicaragua can count on Venezuela “in good times and bad,” and “the Venezuelan Parliament, by virtue of the aggression against the brotherly Nicaraguan people, raises its voice in solidarity, support and backing so that peoples who have just, common causes, fight jointly and together, for definitive victory.”

The document establishes that these illegal US measures are intended to affect economic development and are a form of pressure to promote political changes in line with US interests.

In this regard, they agreed to “categorically condemn the criminal unilateral coercive measures imposed by the Government of the United States of America against the Nicaraguan people and Government for being contrary to the self-determination of the peoples and the economic, political and social development of the Central American nation.” ”.

Furthermore, “to express our solidarity with the Nicaraguan people together with their president and commander, Daniel Ortega, under the conviction that the people of Augusto César Sandino, Carlos Fonseca and Rubén Dario, will continue on the path of revolutionary struggles to achieve peace and development of its people.”
