The Emberá indigenous people who arrived in Bogotá from the department of Risaralda left the negotiation table between representatives of the National Government and the senior authorities of the indigenous communities that was going to be held at the facilities of the National Land Agency.
The spokespersons for the indigenous people asked for respect for their requests and for their requests to be attended to. Besides, They demanded the presence of the ministers who have decision-making power.
One of the indigenous representatives who was present at the meeting said that, “It’s angry to see that they don’t care about us, they don’t care about the indigenous minga who leaves their lands. and they have to submit to sleeping in difficult conditions due to these temperatures in the city of Bogotá.
More than four thousand Emberá indigenous people arrived at dawn this Tuesday in the country’s capital in order to seek solutions to the problems they experience in their territories, and for the failures of the National Government to guarantee their rights.
These people are settled in tents of different sizes on the outskirts of the National Land Agency, where they assure that they are experiencing need due to the absence of food, bathrooms and the climate of Bogotá.

The director of the National Land Agency, Felipe Harman, reported that an agreement was not reached at the negotiation table between the Government and the Embera Chamí community due to the absence of the Ministers of the Interior and Agriculture.
However, he assured that Negotiations are expected to resume this Wednesday morning. Furthermore, he highlighted that the dialogues have had the willingness of both parties.
