During the review of trade relations between Venezuela and Colombia, the deputy to the National Assembly (AN) Julio Chávez ratified the willingness of the Venezuelan nation to promote cooperation with the neighboring country and guarantee the well-being of both peoples.
This was indicated this Tuesday by the parliamentarian during a bilateral meeting held in the Boyacá Hall of the Chamber of Representatives of Colombiawhere the objective of doubling the figures achieved in socioeconomic matters between both nations was established.
He reaffirmed that such a goal would be achieved if we continue to “move forward with direct dialogue and resolve the problems and commit to comprehensive attention to this border area, we could double it and reach the figure of two billion dollars in the year 2025.” He celebrated that the policy of aggression against Venezuela was overcome, and that the two countries currently enjoy harmonious relations.
The deputy and president of the Border Affairs subcommittee of the AN, Vanesa Montero, proposed resuming issues such as border visits between Venezuela and Colombia, as well as addressing the scourge of human trafficking, in order to strengthen and consolidate bilateral relations.
For his part, the Minister of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Colombia, Luis Carlos Reyes, in his right to speak, recalled that the process of reestablishing Colombian-Venezuelan relations began in September 2022. He offered a balance on the issue and He spoke about the economic opportunity for companies in both countries.
The Colombian Vice Minister of Transportation, Carlos Eduardo Enríquez Caicedo, also took the floor, presenting an assessment of what has been done to improve commercial vehicle flow.
