Carlos Andrés Padilla from Santa Cruz, in the MX1 cross category, and Jean Verón Herboso from Cochabamba, in Open enduro, became champions of the highest categories of the 2024 National Motorcycle Championship, which concluded on Sunday at the Cliza Cochabamba circuit.
The seventh and last date of the season took place over the weekend and after winning the race, Padilla added 326 points, which allowed him to secure the season title, as he won four of the seven races.
The runner-up went to another Santa Cruz, Roy Velasco, who scored 234 points, while Jeferson Herboso from Cochabamba, with 222 points, occupied third place throughout the season.
Padilla won the two races run in Cliza and added 50 points, followed by Alejandro Antezana and Jeferson Herboso from Cochabamba, second and third, respectively.
The winners of the other categories in the cross modality were: María René Padilla (Santa Cruz), in MX Ladies; Marco Rocha (Montero) in MX-2, with 288, equal with Eduardo Guzmán (Montero); Lucas Zenteno (Santa Cruz), in 55-MX; Bruno Aguilar (Santa Cruz), in 50-4T; Alejandro Rocha (Santa Cruz), in 50 2T; Leonel Montaño (Santa Cruz), in 65-MX; Israel Bamba (Villamontes), in 85-MX; Freddy Herboso (Cochabamba), in MX B Master; and Sergio Gutiérrez (Cochabamba), in Master MX A.
Croos was raced on Sunday and a day before the enduro competitions were held, a modality in which Jean Verón Herboso was champion in the Open category. On Saturday the rain prevented two heats from being run.
Jean Verón Herboso, who did not start on this last date, added 265 points throughout this year, Luis Galarza from Tarija was runner-up with 239 points and Jefferson Herboso, representative of Cochabamba, came third with 221 points.
The winner of this seventh date was Rodrigo Lozada from Cochabamba, who was followed by Jefferson Herboso and Galarza, second and third, respectively.
The champions of the other categories of the enduro modality were: Carla Tapia (Montero) in Ladies; Carlos Lozada (Cochabamba), in 250 4T; Rodrigo Caero (Cliza), in 225cc; Yamil Salazar (Santa Cruz), in 185 National Mechanics Master; Paúl Dávalos (Montero), in 185 National Mechanics; Daniel Casillas (Montero), in CG; Wadih Hayek (Montero), in Enduro Master A; and Miguel Cordero (Santa Cruz), in Enduro Master B.
