The Federal Police (PF) report on the attempted coup d’état shows that those investigated obtained information about the plea bargain of Mauro Cid, Jair Bolsonaro’s former aide-de-camp. For the PF, the evidence reinforces that the accused tried, in different ways, to obstruct the investigations.
Although the Minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) Alexandre de Moraes has the confidentiality of the PF report was removed today (26), he maintained it in the case of Mauro Cid’s plea bargain. A decision by the minister last year also prohibited any type of contact between him and the former president, former first lady Michelle Bolsonaro and those being investigated in inquiries into the coup attempt.
The messages obtained by the PF show that there was concern about the content of the accusation and a possible mention by Mauro Cid to generals Braga Netto and Augusto Heleno. The messages were identified in documents seized at the headquarters of the Liberal Party (PL), on the desk of Colonel Peregrino (Flávio Botelho Peregrino), Braga Netto’s advisor.
“The content indicates that they are responses given by MAURO CID to questions made by someone, possibly from the group being investigated, who appears concerned about topics identified by the Federal Police related to the attempted coup d’état”, says one of the excerpts from the PF report.
The first question asked in the exchange of messages is: “Content of the meetings. What was reported?” The answer is given in the first person singular, which indicates that it was written or passed on by Mauro Cid, according to the PF: “Nothing… I didn’t go to the meetings. I just put people in.”
The second question is about the draft of Article 142, whether there is any physical document. The response shows concern about the scope of the Federal Police’s investigations: “They know about things that weren’t anywhere (email, cell phone, etc.).” And the third question specifically refers to Filipe Martins, Bolsonaro’s former international advisor. In response, it is said: “They know about him by other means.”
Other questions
The person responsible for trying to obtain confidential information from Mauro Cid’s plea bargain also questions whether there is “other information”. And he receives in response a series of topics in sequence, which the PF reinforces were passed on by Mauro Cid himself:

– They asked about Flávio: he was relieved

In the report, the PF clarifies that the acronyms “AM” refer to Alexandre de Moraes while the acronyms “GBN” or “BN” refer to General Braga Netto. The PF’s conclusion about this exchange of information is that the “context of the document is serious”.
“The context of the aforementioned document confirms that the criminal group carried out concrete acts to gain access to the content of the collaboration agreement signed by MAURO CESAR CID with the Federal Police. Furthermore, it is worth noting that the document was on the desk of Colonel PERREGRINO, advisor to General BRAGA NETTO, a central figure in the acts that had the objective of subverting the democratic regime in Brazil, therefore, a person interested in knowing the content of what was revealed by the collaborator” , says an excerpt from the report.
