About 136 authorities from the Cauca Regional Indigenous Council (Cric) are present at the Inter hotel in Bogotá, with the objective of requesting the guarantees of decree 1811 corresponding to the social and economic emergency that the native peoples of Cauca have.

“The historical, persistent and systematic antecedents for not advancing in the agreement with Decree 1811 of 2017 and other previous agreements, were almost like a state policy, but thanks to dignity as peoples, to dialogue and social mobilization, but, above all, to the recognition that the government of President Gustavo Petro has given to the historical struggle of the indigenous peoples, progress is being made on what was agreed upon,” the spokespersons said.
It should be noted that, In the government of Juan Manuel Santos, Decree 1811 was signed and the state acquired some commitments with the organization and its communities, but non-compliance with the provisions was a general rule by the following leaders, who, through non-observance of what was agreed, ignorance of what was agreed and detracting value from the pledged word, the feeling of struggle and resistance and the need to mobilize to demand rights.
