The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, said in his program ‘Con Maduro +’, number 68, that along with the rise of the Bolivarian Revolution in the country, the United States governments began to form a new opposition leadership as “subjects of imperialism.”
“Imperialism formed the replacement leadership of the dinosaurs of the fourth republic. To the princely ones of Primero Justicia: Henrique Capriles, the megalomaniac of Leopoldo López or María Corina Machado. These were formed as subjects of imperialism. “They are the amalgam of the old political class, which is subordinated to the worst Yankee interests,” said the head of state.
He recalled, in this sense, that the first extremist currents that today mark fascism in Latin America and the Caribbean were formed by imperialism in Venezuela to counteract the leftist movements and governments that were emerging in the region.
“Today fascism is a danger throughout the world,” he said, recalling that 100 years ago fascism took over Europe with the support of imperialism. “The date of the triumph of Franco’s war almost coincides with Hitler’s invasions of Czechoslovakia, Poland and France,” he said about the financing of Western powers to Francoism and Nazism.
An anti-fascist movement is born in Venezuela
To counter the rise of fascism in the world, and particularly in Latin America, the president said that “we cannot sit idly by,” which is why he welcomed the creation in Venezuela of the World Anti-Fascist Movement and for the New World.
“We cannot stop at being anti-fascist. It is excellent news, the creation of the World Anti-Fascist Movement for the New World. For the world of peace, cooperation, progress and prosperity of all humanity,” said the president.
He highlighted that Chinese President “Xi Jinping proposed that the humanity of the 21st century be a humanity of shared destiny. Putin says that the 21st century will be a century without imperialism, a multipolar world. Commander Chávez said since the 90s that the 21st century will be the century of Latin America, and it is already our century, the century of peace.”
He explained that “to guarantee that it is the century of peace, we cannot fold our arms, remain silent. The power is in our word,” he said.
