The Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro (MPRJ) served, this Tuesday (26), 12 search and seizure warrants against suspected fraud in State Health Foundation contracts with companies. Among the targets of Operation Vigília are two Civil Police delegates.
MPRJ investigations revealed the direction of the foundation’s public contracts, linked to the State Department of Health, to provide services in three state units: Hospital Heloneida Studart, in São João de Meriti; Women’s State Hospital, in Mesquita; and State Center for Diagnostics and Imaging, in the center of Rio.
According to the Public Ministry, two companies benefited from the scheme, with the help of a police chief and his father. The action has the support of the Civil Police General Inspectorate.
