HAVANA, Cuba.- The Cuban activist and opposition Ricardo Vazquez Morales denounced CubaNet who is being a victim of harassment by the Cuban State Security for keeping phrases against the island’s regime on the front facade of his home.
“They came here to me home (State Security and the national police) so that I would remove the posters that I painted on the walls in front of my house and they began to threaten me that they were going to put me in prison,” denounced the Cuban opponent.
The Cuban resides on Santa María Street, between Ulloa and Mazarredo, where the repressors have undertaken strict surveillance since last Friday to try arrest to Vázquez Portal.
Among the phrases written by the Cuban, you can read “Homeland is Life”, “Freedom for the Cuban People” and “Down with Díaz-Canel” which, the opponent assures, has made the regime very uncomfortable.
“The police tried to force the door to enter to arrest me but they couldn’t open it. I told them that I was not going to delete them and I asked them if they imposed their signs on public roads why I couldn’t put mine up in my house,” he explained.
In addition, Vazquez Morales He insisted that in recent months he has been a victim of harassment by the Island’s regime, which wants to force him to pay a debt of 10,920 pesos for two fines during the Covid-19 pandemic.
“In mid-October they came with a citationthen they came at the beginning of November forcing me to appear before an officer named Milagros. But what this is about is a trap they want to put me in to put me in prison,” he said.

Last September, Vázquez Morales told in an interview with CubaNet the sad economic situation he was going through, which is why he had been forced to sell most of the belongings in his home in order to feed himself.
