SANTO DOMINGO.- The former president Hipolito Mejia reacted to the statements of Gloria Reyesdirector of Get over programwho stated that in the current political landscape there are no women with sufficient leadership to aspire to the Presidency in 2028.
Last week, during an interview on the program «Political» of “De Último Minuto Media”, Reyes expressed that the country is prepared to be led by a woman, but “I do not see the context very clear at this moment, because I do not feel the female leadership that can be chosen with the favorable situation, that is, I feel that we do not have the female figures of the level to choose from at this juncture in 2028.

“Gloria is my double cousin, but she is always lost, in this case she is lost, but this is a topic that has no sense of relevance, there are three years left for these types of discussions and it depends on many conditions,” said Mejía.
Reyes’ statements have caused a stir on social networks, since many believe that in the country there are several women with sufficient merit to reach the country’s presidency.
