The general manager of Arenera La Molina, Nicolás Ramos, stated that the District Municipality of The Molinto is being “obstructionist” with the development of the urban planning of the land called Antigua La Molina Quarry.

In statements to Peru21recalled that a few years ago, the municipality of that district gave the green light for this planning, however, he pointed out that in 2022, when the mayor was Álvaro Paz de la Barra, the Municipal Council of La Molina annulled the agreement given in 2015 for the real estate company to continue with the procedure, which stopped the development of this project that is still waiting to see the light of day.
“The company goes to the Judiciary in 2022 asking for the annulment of that decision and, through a final and definitive instance, they agree with us. But in the last two months, the mayor of that district has been ignoring what the court has already decided,” he said.
In that sense, he pointed out that they have now encountered opposition from the current mayor of the district, Diego Uceda, who responds to their rejection with the argument that the work “goes against the residential nature of La Molina.”
“In the plan presented we have opted for low and medium density residential living, which is equally homogeneous to what is experienced in the urbanization adjacent to the project we have,” he explained.
Likewise, he highlighted the company’s commitment to ensuring order in the district, and warned that the opposition that the commune is showing generates the possibility of the entry of invaders to the area.
“The invasions are generated within what are mafias of land traffickers, where instability, illegality, illicitness is what prevails. (…) If we propose approximately 4,500 homes with this project, with the invasion there will be 30,000 homes and that is called attacking residentiality,” he added.

In that sense, he stated that what they offer as a company, in addition to order and respect for the rules, are areas such as parks, gardens, schools, commercial areas, as well as basic services such as water and drainage, that is, a level of residential life and comfort.
For the representative of Arenera La Molina, at this point, and after so much time, the planning proposal should not be harmed taking as an argument situations that are already resolved in the file itself.
“Each urban development that is carried out within the planning will have to go through the Municipality of La Molina to grant authorization and construction licenses, which corresponds to its jurisdiction. At no time will any possibility of intervention by the commune be violated,” he stressed.
