Javier Mileihas outlined an ambitious plan for the year 2025, with the aim of consolidating the country’s economic recovery and ensuring a year full of good news. Since taking office, he has implemented a series of economic reforms that have begun to show positive results, and he is now preparing to intensify these efforts with new measures starting in January.
One of the fundamental pillars of the plan Javier Milei is the sustained reduction of inflation. During its first year in office, the government has managed to reduce inflation to levels not seen in recent years.
In October 2024, retail inflation was 2.7%, while wholesale inflation stood at 1.2%. This achievement has been possible thanks to strict control of public spending and the implementation of prudent monetary policies.
By 2025, Milei and his economic team, led by Economy Minister Luis Caputo, plan to continue adjusting spending to maintain the fiscal surplus. The objective is to reduce the monthly devaluation rate to 1% and focus on greater economic activity that stops job destruction.
In addition, an effort will be made to attract new capital through investments, allowing those that had already begun to be developed before its regulation in August to be registered in the Registry of International Investments and Guarantees (RIGI).
Another key measure will be moderation in the removal of subsidies and rate increases. This week, the government extended the energy emergency until mid-2025, which will allow provisional rate reviews to be maintained in electricity and natural gas services.

These reforms are designed to improve the efficiency of public spending, guarantee the sustainability of the pension system and modernize the Argentine labor market. In addition, the government will seek consensus at the Dialogue Table between the General Confederation of Labor (CGT), the government and businessmen to ensure effective implementation of these reforms.
