In a virtual hearing held this Sunday, the judge of the Guarayos province, Roberto Cruz Hurtado Roca, determined preventive detention for 180 days in the Palmasola prison, for David Ruth Machicao, 25 years old, accused of sexually abusing a minor under 11 years old.

“The judicial authority made such a determination after evaluating the investigative work of the police, the Public Secretariat, as well as the victim’s family,” said Rubén Darío Ortiz, advisor to the Office of the Ombudsman for Minors and Adolescence.

In contact with EL DEBER in Guarayos, the advisor, after hearing the confession of the accused himself, gave a summary of the facts.

He indicated that the subject, a drug addict, declared that last Friday afternoon, he intercepted the victim on a sparsely inhabited street, in the Virgen de Guadalupe neighborhood, in that provincial capital.

He took him to a lot, where he first tried to suffocate him, but when he saw that the child did not lose consciousness, he hit him on the head with a stone, and then committed the abuse, already in an unconscious state, a confession that was corroborated with the forensic examination, said Ortiz.

Some time later the boy was found by neighbors, who took him to the hospital.

For their part, the Police, upon learning of the incident, began an intense operation, arresting several people on the street, and then holding an identification parade, in which the boy identified his attacker.
