With yellow machinery, a provisional path was made and now the Red Cross in Quindío arrived with important humanitarian aid with food, cooking kits, vital itemsamong others, in the midst of such a critical moment, as stated by the director of the entity in the department, Jaime Giovanni Alzate.
“Through the National Red Cross, we received these kits from Bogotá to deliver to this population that was affected. QThe entity’s staff went directly to the sidewalk and it was delivered to the impacted people,” said the director of the Quindío Red Cross.
The president of the Pedregales village, Noelia Toro, expressed that the situation has been complex for agricultural producers that it took between three, four and even more hours to get their productsHe also pointed out that others who lost their crops because they could not mobilize them.
“They had to transfer on the road and carry their products on their shoulders or on horseback from the lower part to the upper part. There were people whose products were damaged so they did not have transportation.. The passion fruit, banana, all of this was damaged, because there was no time to remove them,” said the social leader.
It should be mentioned that critical situations remain in other areas of the municipality of Génova, like a geological fault in the San Juan path and damage to the Cumaral and Río Gris trails.
