The Secretariat of Social Integration of Bogotá announced that as of this Wednesday – October 23 – a new cycle of payments of the Guaranteed Minimum Income (GMI) transfers began, with which they seek to reduce scourges such as poverty and food insecurity among the most humble populations of the city.

On this occasion they will focus on the first group of more than 202,000 households in extreme poverty in Bogotá, classified in category A of the Sisbén, and those in category B with children and adolescents (NNA); who can already claim this help through the channels provided by the District.

From Social Integration they recalled that during 2024, within the framework of the District Plan of Bogotá Camina Segura Development, more than 427,000 households in situations of poverty and extreme poverty have been prioritized through this program; who have managed to make a living in the midst of the difficult social situation they experience daily.

“These transfers will be made in a staggered manner, through digital wallets such as DaviPlata, Nequi, MOVii, Bancolombia a la Mano and Dale. It is essential that people who receive the money transfer pay attention to the text message with the payment confirmation to be able to make the withdrawal at the authorized points,” they explained in a statement.

The tenth cycle of IMG monetary transfers reaches a total investment of more than $40,000 million, adding up to a total accumulated investment which exceeds $470,000 million pesos under the administration of the Mayor, Carlos Fernando Galán.

The Guaranteed Minimum Income also has an education component that benefits households with children and adolescents from 7 to 17 years old; through which 7,129 households in category A of Sisbén received $2,660 million and 119,513 households in category B, $9,809 million. Additionally, 125 households in Sumapaz obtained $7.7 million in additional support for transportation.

“It is important to keep in mind that the number of people who receive the money exceeds the number of households served. This is taking into account that the same person can receive several transactions, according to the different types of beneficiary population that each household has, according to the components described in the table,” they explained in this regard.

Now, payments for the elderly, people with disabilities and young people will be announced in the coming days and will also be carried out in a staggered manner and therefore, it is important that these people are attentive to the official communication channels of the District Secretariat for Social Integration (SDIS) to stay informed.
