The Private University of Santa Cruz de la Sierra – UPSA, is proud to have participated in all phases of the first version of the Effie Awards in Bolivia, supporting the successful realization of this initiative that recognizes the effort and effectiveness of the work carried out. carried out by marketing and advertising agencies.

The UPSA received in its classrooms the more than 100 jurors who participated both in the initial talks and in the two days of judging, where 10 representatives of the Marketing and Advertising, and Graphic and Advertising Design courses of the University also participated as jurors. UPSA.

In the competition, UPSA teachers, Bruno Cadario and José María de la Quintana, were some of the winners. Bamboo Comunicación Creativa, where Bruno is creative director, achieved Silver and Bronze in the “Promotion” and “Financial Products or Services” categories, for the Smartplay campaign they carried out together with the Banco Economía; and the Rock n Roll agency, of which José María is a part, took Bronze in the “Food and Beverages” category for the campaign “Our love is renewed with the same flavor as always” by Cervecería Paceña.

Lauren Müller de Pacheco, Rector of UPSA, commented: “We are pleased to have contributed to the enormous success of this great event, and we hope to be the home of the Effie Awards again next year, to receive them with the hospitality that characterizes our University. ”.

While the Dean of the Faculty of Business Sciences at UPSA, Mary Esther Parada, who also participated as Commissioner during the evaluation, indicated that “it was very interesting to know what is being done around marketing and advertising in our country, and to learn on the evaluation processes of advertising campaigns with international standards. “It was a learning moment that made us feel part of this great event and the prestigious Effie Awards brand.”

Likewise, the students of the Marketing and Advertising degree at UPSA supported during the first and second phase of evaluation, not only in the logistics during the sessions, but also inside the room and in the placement of the spots in the projections. The activity was also a learning process for the students, who took the opportunity to learn from the inside, the logistics of an international award, how the confidentiality of the evaluations is handled, and the professionalism of all the people involved.

“This event has been a milestone in our Marketing and Advertising career, transforming not only the marketing and advertising landscape, but also deeply enriching the experience of teachers, students and academics. Participating in the Effie has allowed us to transcend and reach new levels of excellence,” commented Antonio De La Vía González, Head of the Commercial Engineering program at UPSA.

The official launch of the Effie Bolivia took place on May 7, and the awards gala took place on November 14, bringing together the main actors in the country’s advertising industry and the most prominent advertising companies, to celebrate the effectiveness in marketing campaigns.
