Police will pay 11 years in prison for a shooting

Two arrested for triple murder

The Third Trial Court of Miranda decreed a sentence of 11 years in prison against Cleiderman Gabriel Martínez González (23), an official of the Bolivarian National Police, for his responsibility in the frustrated homicide of a 26-year-old man, the Prosecutor’s Office reported. .

Such a situation occurred on December 11, 2022 in the Santa Bárbara sector, Ocumare-Cúa national highway in the state of Miranda. In the early morning hours of the aforementioned date, Martínez González along with three other co-workers were at a checkpoint at the aforementioned address when they observed several people passing through the place on a motorcycle.

Upon seeing such a situation, they raised their voice to the vehicle, but the victim was unable to stop due to a mechanical failure on his motorcycle. Seeing that he did not slow down, Martínez González took out his service weapon and shot him, which required his transfer to a health center where he was treated.
