By Freddy Planchón. “Soriano Avanza” (lists 125 and 11010), a member of the Third Way National Sector, held a Departmental Meeting this Saturday the 16th at Casa del Partido Colorado in Mercedes, in which representatives of the other groups that belong to the sector also took part (123, 321, 1540 and 9007).
At the meeting, future lines of work were outlined in areas such as attention to the problem of addictions, Science and Technology, Housing, which will be promoted through Senator Gustavo Zubía, as well as through the different party bodies.
In Soriano, Zubía’s senate accounted for 21.5 percent of the Party’s total votes, the highest proportion achieved by the former prosecutor in all the departments of the country in relation to its population. Maldonado followed with 14%.
In terms of absolute numbers, Soriano is the fourth department in Third Way votes. The first were Montevideo, Canelones and Maldonado respectively.
