Mexico, the US partner with the greatest exposure to Trump; trade leads risk

Trump's election, the return of trade wars?

The overall risk score is based on an assessment of vulnerability in the three areas mentioned above (trade, immigration and security) where major policy changes are expected under the Trump administration.

In trade, Mexico was given the highest exposure score (100), in security it was 56.3 points and in migration 44.4.

Not even China, which is facing a trade war with the United States, has as high an exposure as Mexico.

Although there are countries that achieved a score of 100 in security and migration, in trade it was in a lower proportion than Mexico.

For example, Panama obtained a risk exposure of 100 points in security, but in trade it was only 13.1 points.

El Salvador had an exposure of 100 points in migration, but in trade only 18.2 points.

Mexico is highly dependent on purchases of merchandise from the United States, 8 out of every 10 dollars of Mexican exports correspond to the neighboring country.

From an evaluation of 70 partner countries of the United States, the 10 that have the most reasons to be worried about Trump are: Mexico, Costa Rica, Germany, Dominican Republic, Panama, China, Japan, El Salvador, Vietnam and Honduras.
