It was the first defense.

He is free to receive “whoever he wants”

A month later, on November 18, the president once again stood up for her brother; this time for the hiring of Víctor Torres Merino for 35 thousand soles in the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis) to provide the “active breaks” service.
“Where is the problem? Maybe because he is a friend of Dr. Nicanor Boluarte? Or because I was a minister? I was not aware that they had hired him…”, he argued.

In January of this year, it was reported that Nicanor Boluarte used prefects and sub-prefects to collect signatures to register his Citizens for Peru party in the National Election Jury (JNE) with a view to the 2026 general elections.
