Andean House It continues with its expansion and next year it would continue opening in new destinations. New this year was Casa Andina Premium Golf Los Incas, a modern space that offers modern facilities for guests, but also for those who want to rent a meeting room or the spa. Juan Stoessel tells more details about this and other brand headquarters.
What are your expansion plans?
Casa Andina, since it began 21 years ago, has always been growing. We constantly talk about what comes next once we have the contracts signed. Yes, I can tell you that in a few months we will be in Ayacucho, where we are not present. This is a destination that needs private investment, because its culture, churches, historic center, museums and cuisines are truly surprising.
Can more hotels come?
Anyway. The one from Ayacucho is the one that has already been signed, which is why I have been able to tell you about it.
What factors are taken into account to reach a destination?
We know the destinations where we are already. In addition, we have a lot of clients who demand that we put a Casa Andina in their destination because they have to travel and are already used to our infrastructure. Of course it is important to know if there is an airport in the place, the flow of national and foreign tourists, flights, in short, there are a series of things that are taken into account.
How are the investments going?
We never really talk about numbers, but hotels have to be constantly being remodeled because there is competition and because hotels with high occupancy are undoubtedly wearing out. There is always a percentage of the income that is allocated to keeping the hotels in good condition. We are constantly reinvesting in other hotels to always have them in the best possible condition.
Now you have Casa Andina Premium Golf Los Incas, how does it contribute to the expansion of the company?
A long time ago Casa Andina was looking to enter Surco and we were looking at different hotel alternatives. We always knew that the Hotel Golf Los Incas was the best option, we reached an agreement with the owners and since the middle of this year the hotel has been operated by Casa Andina. It is a modern hotel, very well located. It is key for Lima’s hotel infrastructure. Surco is a rapidly growing, thriving district, with many national and transnational offices nearby and that is why we sought to be present, especially for the national and international corporate market. This hotel plays a key role for Casa Andina.
What is the value strategy for users?
This hotel is quite well known, with good infrastructure and has had good service, with spectacular facilities. What Casa Andina is doing is entering and making a good complement to what was already being done. We have made some adjustments to “casandine” the hotel. It has good gastronomy, a good restaurant, a beautiful terrace. Something that the hotel also has is the corporate meeting center for social events, with beautiful rooms, one of them even near the pool. The rooms have views of the Los Incas Golf, and there is also a well-known spa that is used by our clients or people who live in the area.
They recently opened a hotel in Madre de Dios.
Everything that is Tambopata de Madre de Dios is part of the southern tourist circuit, which concentrates more than 85% of the foreigners who visit the country. For some time now, Casa Andina wanted to be present in the area where there are very good lodges, so we wanted to have something special and we have achieved it. This is a luxury lodge with 18 very beautiful rooms. It has the appearance of being in the jungle, but with many comforts, including air conditioning. We have a nice restaurant overlooking the pool and the Tambopata River. It has beautiful gardens and a small spa, and delicious cuisine. You can visit the main attractions in the area and it is close to the city.
They also created the Casa Andina Life program.
Casa Andina Life is a frequent flyer program. What this program does is that every time you stay you can accumulate points and those points can be used to stay at any Casa Andina hotel. We have surpassed 130,000 members, and a very significant percentage of them constantly use it. Life has categories and the more you go up in category, the more benefits you have. You can have better rates, free rooms, agree to stay before check in, have a better room. Many of the clients are national corporations, people who travel for domestic tourism, and also surprisingly we are reaching almost 15% of these 130,000 members who are foreigners mainly from countries in the region, from the United States to Chile.
