The head of the Judiciary, Javier Arévalo, will be the one who will swear in Burneo in a ceremony that will begin at 9:00 am.
The brand new head of the JNE was the only candidate for the position, which is why the Plenary Chamber of supreme judges elected him on October 24.
Burneo Bermejo’s main function will be to organize the 2026 general elections.
The supreme judge is a graduate of the University of Piura and began his judicial career only in 2022, at the age of 47, when the National Board of Justice (JNJ) elected him for that role.
