The participation of President Claudia Sheinbaum in the G-20 summit yesterday generated mixed opinions. Morena in the Senate said that the president’s intervention was outstanding, while the PAN considered her speech as contradictory, because while abroad it promotes the reduction in military spending, internally it has increased it and decreased that allocated to the Ministry of the Environment Atmosphere.
The senator of blue and white Ricardo Anaya described it as very positive that Mexico is participating again in international organizations and has left this village vision, lopezobradorista, of being locked up in the country, as if we were not part of the world concert
.
But what yes What worries us is the contradiction, that is, that what is said outside of Mexico is exactly the opposite of what we do here, at home.
.
He highlighted that Sheinbaum’s message at the G-20 meeting was to increase spending to protect the environment and reduce military spending.
But here, it is exactly the opposite, the budget project for the following year foresees an increase in military spending and a decrease in resources allocated to environmental protection, the legislator noted.
Outstanding
For his part, the president of the Senate, Gerardo Fernández Noroña, pointed out that the President’s participation in the international summit was outstanding. But that is not a surprise, since this is a person with a strong political background and commitment.
He recalled that the head of the federal Executive raised at the meeting the Sowing Life program, which is one of the most important that was promoted since the last administration with an investment much greater than what the UN invests in environmental issues.
The Morenista added that Claudia Sheinbaum shone at the aforementioned meeting and represented the country more than worthily.
Now we have to ensure that what is discussed there materializes into public policies with real commitment from the most powerful economies in the world, he highlighted.
