Army and Navy seize cocaine, chemicals and destroy drug plantations in 10 states

Last weekend, 10 states saw intense security activity with the arrest of suspected criminals, the seizure of more than 300 packages of cocaine, 2,650 liters of chemicals used to make synthetic drugs, the destruction of 288 poppy and marijuana plantations, as well as the seizure of firearms and vehicles, reported the security cabinet of the Mexican government.
The operations were a product of the National Security Strategy applied in Sinaloa, Chihuahua, Durango, Guerrero, Tamaulipas, Sonora, Quintana Roo, Michoacán, State of Mexico and Baja California.
It was a joint effort between the Secretariats of National Defense, the Navy and Citizen Security and Protection, the Attorney General’s Office and the National Guard.
Sinaloa was the state with the greatest activity, where it was reported that in the Eldorado community, in the municipality of the same name, Mexican Army troops were attacked with gunshots by unknown persons
for which one of the aggressors was captured, 13 long weapons, 37 magazines, 1,721 cartridges, three tactical vests, two vehicles and apparent drugs were seized.
Likewise, in the municipality of Cosalá, the military seized 2,650 liters of chemicals to produce synthetic drugs, which represents a economic impact on criminal organizations that amounts to 59 million pesos
.
On the other hand, military personnel stationed in the municipality of Elota confiscated a long weapon, 25 magazines, 140 cartridges, a communication radio, vests and tactical uniforms, and also detained one person; In Navolato, another subject was apprehended aboard a vehicle with artisanal armor and ponchallantas stars and a short weapon were seized.
In Baja California, the Navy seized 300 packages of alleged cocaine hydrochloride, whose weight exceeds 350 kilos and were found in a container in the facilities of the Ensenada port complex.
In coordinated efforts against drug production and trafficking, Defense and Navy personnel destroyed 213 poppy plantations in 24 hectares and 75 marijuana plantations in 4.5 hectares in Sinaloa, Chihuahua, Durango and Guerrero.
In Tamaulipas, Navy personnel secured and placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office 632 cartridges, 18 magazines, military-type uniforms, two tactical helmets, two drone batteries, tire blowers, supplies and two abandoned vehicles, one of them with artisanal shielding.
