Get your umbrella ready: the areas of the country where it will rain the most this week, according to Ideam

He Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (Ideam) presented the weather forecast in the country for the week of November 18 to 22, in which greater rainfall is observed on the Pacific coast (from the south-central Chocó to Cauca) and the maritime zone of the Colombian Pacific.

In the case of Bogotá, partly cloudy to mostly cloudy skies are expected throughout the week, with rain during the afternoons and nights and with the probability of electrical activity and hail. In the mornings, the weather will be clear and sunny.

Monday, November 18:

To end today, in the Caribbean region an increase in cloudiness is forecast accompanied by rain in sectors of La Guajira, Bolívar, Sucre, Córdoba, Atlántico, Magdalena and Cesar.

In the Andean region, an increase in cloudiness with rain is expected in areas of Antioquia, Santander, Boyacá, Cundinamarca, the Coffee Region, Tolima and Huila.

Towards the Pacific region, rains are more likely, especially in Chocó, although lower intensity rainfall is not ruled out in other areas. In the east of the country, dry weather conditions will predominate, although there is the possibility of rain in the plain foothills.

In the Amazon, rains are expected in Guainía, Vaupés, Amazonas and the Amazonian Foothills.

Tuesday, November 19:

Moderate to heavy rains are expected with possible electrical activity in the Colombian Caribbean Sea basin and areas of the departments of La Guajira, Magdalena, Cesar, Bolívar, Atlántico, Antioquia, Santander, Norte de Santander, Cundinamarca, Boyacá, Tolima, Caldas, Quindío, Risaralda, Huila, Cauca, Chocó, Nariño, Valle del Cauca, the Colombian Pacific coast, the foothills Amazonian and Amazon.

In the rest of the country there could be less intense rains.

Wednesday, November 20:

On the third day of the work week, dry conditions are expected in the Orinoquía region. On the other hand, precipitation is forecast in areas of the Caribbean, the center and south of the Pacific region, and large areas of the regions Andean and Amazonian.

In much of the Orinoquía and Amazonia there will be abundant cloudiness with localized rainfall in the foothills of Casanare, Meta, Caquetá, Putumayo, Vichada, Vaupés, Amazonas and Guainía.

Friday, November 22:

For the last day of the work week, rain is forecast in the east and south of the Caribbean region.

In the Andean region, rainfall will continue in sectors of Santander, Norte de Santander, Cundinamarca, Boyacá, Antioquia, Caldas, Risaralda, Quindío, Huila and dispersed areas of Tolima.

The Pacific region, cloudy skies are expected with possible rains in Chocó, Valle del Cauca, Nariño and Cauca. In most of the Orinoquía and Amazonia there will be abundant cloudiness with local rains in Casanare, Meta, Caquetá, Vichada, Arauca, Putumayo, Guaviare, Vaupés and Guainía.
