They promulgate Law 075 that dismisses ‘self-prorogated’ magistrates

Andrónico Rodríguez, as president of the Plurinational Legislative Assembly (ALP) and head of the Chamber of Senators, reported that Law 075, on the cessation of functions of ‘self-prorogated’ judges, was approved and promulgated.

“We are at a very important moment, this promulgation is to comply with the Political Constitution of the State and the people. We had warned since 2023; if the magistrates extend themselves with a simple constitutional declaration, we would enter a crisis,” he shot Rodríguez, before the media, this Tuesday afternoon.

As the senator explained, the Constitution tells us that “we must work within the framework of cooperation and not imposition, so that a simple lawyer defines the destiny of the institutions and norms (referring to the ruling issued by the Constitutional Court)” .

Rodriguez considered that “the ALP fulfills its role, which the people expressed at the polls (when they elected the judicial authorities). Therefore today in the absence of the president of the State, the vice president assumes as president and the function as president of the State falls to me. the ALP”.

It is in this situation that “we decided to assume the task of sanction and promulgation, to restore the validity of 183, 188, 194 and 200 of the Political Constitution of the State, which has as its objective the cessation of the self-extended judicial authorities, their functions were until January 2 of this year.”

And he added that this also “repeals paragraph 4 of constitutional ruling 0049.”
