The evismo legal team presented a memorial this Tuesday morning in the Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) to ask him not to apply the constitutional ruling, which validated the congress of the Arcista Movement Towards Socialism (MAS), held in May of this year in the city of El Alto and where Grover García was elected as president of that fractional political organization.

“We ask you to disapply the constitutional ruling and, consequently, to refrain from pronouncing any resolution on the national leadership of the MAS, recognizing only the leadership of brother Evo Morales,” said Wilfredo Chávez, evismo lawyer.

This faction of the MAS, among the bases of its request, alleges that the questioned sentence is “illegitimate” because, according to Chávez, it emerges “from authorities that have extended their mandate.” themselves”.

Also “we have told the TSE that it cannot submit (…) to what a TCP room is doing; That is to say, you cannot kneel or submit to the fourth constitutional chamber,” he said.

He stressed that the TSE has to respect its independence “by setting aside this ruling (…) which has no legal meaning.”

“In sum, We ask you to continue recognizing brother Evo Morales because It is the right thing, it is the legitimate thing, by trajectory, by history, also because The MAS is not understood without the leadership of Brother Evo Morales as president of the MAS,” he emphasized.

Reject a member

Chávez, on the other hand, reported that they challenged TSE member Nelly Arista, who last weekend announced that she will recognize arcist Grover García as president of the MAS, in compliance with the constitutional ruling.

“We have challenged the member (…) in order for her to step aside, because she has anticipated criteria for a topic that they did not yet know (the vocals) in the background,” he noted.

Chávez added that, in addition, this member, during the government of Evo Morales, was “appointed, for several years and enjoying a very good salary, in the UNDP.”
