Starting a business with friends can be one of the most fun experiences you can have, especially if you and your friends share the same passion, as is the case with Yaindry Nova and Cheylin Morillo.
Both undertook from the university at the age of 17. Yaindry always liked having several sources of income, so she always had regular jobs, plus extra income such as making cross-stitch embroidery items, selling perfumes and women’s clothing from a room in her house.
It was like that until he finally learned the techniques of personalizing items and that he could turn his passion into a profitable business.
In Cheylin’s case, she started by selling shoes through a catalog to her classmates and family members, she also sold clothes from her home, and then she started creating hair bows. From there comes Cheys Gift by Sublinyl, the idea of personalized ones, a fusion of her independent projects.
They told elCaribe that they started with Cheys Gift by Sublinyl decorating birthdays and family events. Yaindry has spent four years and Cheylin three years devoting himself completely to the world of personalizations and gifts.
Yaindry Nova remembers that since she was a child she always loved crafts. “Mommy had to hide the scissors from me, I was the one who liked to decorate the class with hearts for Valentine’s Day, she loved drawing and putting together birthdays,” she said smiling.
Cheylin Morillo smiles as she expresses that she was born with a creative streak. “I have always liked to make different details, surprise with pretty wrappers. I have always liked to make them personalized and themed on my birthdays, so this project allowed me to materialize what I have always liked”, she states proudly.
They met at a workshop to learn how to personalize
Yaindry Nova started this project independently and Cheylin saw the photos of her work that she posted on social media and contacted her to order some custom t-shirts. From there, she continued ordering her items to complement her breakfasts and rose arrangements, which was the job that young Cheylin Morillo performed autonomously.
Both kept in touch via WhatsApp and began to work together, joining their talents and complementing their specialties, Yaindry in personalizing items and Cheylin in rose and breakfast arrangements.

“Through our gifts and creations we are part of the most special and important moments of our clients. Being the accomplices to surprise and please a loved one is fun and rewarding, especially when we receive messages of thanks and how happy those who receive our creations are,” they indicated.
They expressed that Cheys Gift by Sublinyl became like a son to them and is a fundamental part of their day-to-day life, although it represents a lot of effort, they make them happy because it is something they like and are passionate about.
They added that “undertaking requires being available practically 24/7, although the doors of the business close, we continue working and planning our agenda.”
In their daily routines they complement each other, Yaindry is the early riser who arrives at the business from 7:00 in the morning or earlier if necessary and Cheylin is the one who does not like to close, and can stay up very late if the pending tasks warrant it. . “Entrepreneurship entails great responsibility; You are no longer the employee who meets a schedule and expects a salary, you become responsible for the expenses of the business, the employment of other people, the operation of the business falls on our shoulders”, they indicated.
They stated that without the support of their family, friends and husbands it would not have been possible. They have been a key support since the beginning, their best promotion since day one and who today are their loyal customers.
They say that Cheys Gift by Sublinyl has taught them that to achieve a dream you have to work very hard to get results and grow little by little.
They remember that there were times when they thought they would throw in the towel.
