The Nicaraguan Institute of Territorial Studies (Ineter) announced that this Thursday the first cold front of the season will enter, which will cause a drop in temperatures nationwide, mainly during the early mornings. The phenomenon will last throughout the weekend, according to Manuel Prado, from the Ineter Climate Change area, in his weekly report.
«Starting on Thursday and during the weekend we will have the entry of the first cold front. This comes from the north, coinciding with the beginning of astronomical winter in December, which means the arrival of cold air masses typical of this time. Therefore, a slight decrease in temperatures is expected,” explained Prado.
Temperature and wind forecast
Ineter detailed that maximum temperatures will range between 30 and 33 degrees Celsius in the Pacific region, while in the north of the country they will be between 27 and 31 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperatures could drop to 20 degrees Celsius throughout the national territory, accompanied by an increase in winds coming from the east to the west.
«We expect temperature values of 30 to 33 degrees in the Pacific and between 27 and 31 degrees in the north of the country. In addition, this cold front will bring accumulated weak to moderate rains in the northern regions and the Caribbean Coast, along with an acceleration of the winds, especially in the north and the south Pacific,” Ineter added in its report.
Effects of Tropical Storm Sara persist
Although Tropical Storm Sara has already lost its structure in the Gulf of Mexico, its remnants will continue to affect the weather in Nicaragua with scattered rains and cloudy skies until Wednesday, Ineter reported.

«We can end the storm process; However, the southwest flow and the entry of moisture from the Pacific Ocean still persist, which will generate weak rains for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Although they will be light, these precipitations are significant due to the saturated soil,” explained the meteorology entity.
The report indicated that the Pacific was the region with the highest accumulations of rain during the passage of Sara, where precipitation will be more persistent at the beginning of the week. However, these will gradually decrease with the arrival of the cold front expected on Thursday.
