Bogotá faces the consequences of heavy rains of the last few hours, with a total of 41 events reported in different locations of the city, according to the balance provided by the District Institute of Risk and Climate Change Management (IDIGER).
The effects include falling trees, mass movements, damage to the sewage system and flooding, which has mobilized the District’s emergency teams to respond to recorded situations.
The most affected towns have been Rafael Uribe Uribe with nine events, followed by Ciudad Bolívar with eight and San Cristóbal with seven. To a lesser extent, incidents were reported in Fontibón (5), Usme (2), Usaquén (2), Santa Fe (2), Suba (2), and an event in Bosa, Engativá, Teusaquillo and Los Mártires.
Of the 41 incidents, 21 are related to tree falls, which have mainly affected main roads, and 16 to mass movements, which have required urgent interventions in landslide-prone areas. Furthermore, it has been reported three damages to the sewage system and one case of significant flooding.
IDIGER, in coordination with district entities, deployed specialized teams to respond to emergencies, prioritizing those with the greatest impact such as structural collapses and landslides.
Among the actions implemented, the removal of fallen trees, the evaluation of the sewage system to prevent major flooding and the constant monitoring of weather conditions stand out. with the aim of issuing early warnings to citizens.

Faced with this situation, IDIGER called on the population to take preventive measures, such as avoiding traveling through areas affected by falling trees or landslides, staying away from areas prone to flooding and report emergencies to line 123.
Likewise, it was recommended to follow the official channels of the entity to receive updated information on the evolution of the rains and their impacts. With the rains continuing in the city, local authorities They reinforce their efforts to mitigate risks and protect citizens.
