This Sunday, November 17, relatives of political prisoners due to post-election protests in the Tocorón prison, Aragua state, denounced that despite the fact that the board has several release tickets, there have still been no new releases, as reported by the Committee for the Freedom of Political Prisoners.
Through social networks, the organization also detailed that since Saturday, November 16, they were informed that they would release more than 80 prisoners from the Tocuyito prison, Carabobo state, and “today they are being denied release tickets. Prison officials say that the Ministry of Penitentiary Service has not issued them.

Since the early hours of Saturday the 16th, several releases of political prisoners have been carried out, including some teenagers. The Penal Forum reported that it has verified the release of 131 political prisoners, detained in the framework of the protests after the presidential elections of July 28.
There are still more than 1,700 detainees for political reasons in Venezuela.
On Saturday night, the Attorney General, Tarek William Saab, assured that 225 freedom measures were “granted and executed” to detainees during the post-election protests. Through social networks, the Prosecutor’s Office reported that “these measures were requested in accordance with article 285 of the Constitution of the Republic based on exhaustive investigations based on new evidence and elements of evidence collected by prosecutors.”
