The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saabreported that 225 freedom measures were granted and executed to people prosecuted for the acts of violence recorded after the elections of July 28.
These actions were carried out between the afternoon of Friday, November 15 and Saturday, November 16, the Public Ministry stated through its account on the social network Instagram.
Furthermore, he indicated that the measures were requested in accordance with Article 285 of the Constitution of the Republic based on exhaustive investigations based on new evidence and elements of evidence collected by prosecutors.
The attorney general confirmed that the freedoms that were granted are the product of the joint work of the Public Ministry and the Judiciary, and that no non-governmental organization (NGO) can award them as a result, “with the subsequent purpose of using work and results that do not “It is their responsibility: to continue requesting ‘financing’ from foreign industries such as the Atlas Network, the Ned and the USAID.”
On November 15, the prosecutor announced that the Public Ministry requested the review of 225 arrest measures in cases related to acts of violence after the presidential elections.
In a statement, he said that this action has family reunification as its center and consolidates the commitment of Venezuelan institutions to peace, justice and human rights.
Recently, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, called on the country’s attorney general and Thursdays to review any case that requires rectification.
