The District Institute of Recreation and Sports (IDRD) announced a notable investment to accompany Team Bogotá at the start of the I National Youth Games 2024.

To ensure optimal preparation, The IDRD allocated a total of 2,363 million pesos which covered transportation, accommodation and food expenses in more than 70 qualifying championships and national and international tournaments.
This investment also included concentrations and prior training, essential for athletes to arrive at competitions in their best condition.

During the three weeks of competitions, The IDRD will allocate an additional 1,600 million pesos to guarantee the well-being and ideal conditions of our athletes.
These resources are focused to cover the accommodation, food and transportation of the professional support team, made up of doctors, technicians and administrative staff, who will be next to our athletes every day.
With the support of the Applied Sports Sciences Unit, the IDRD has also invested 122 million pesos in ergogenic aids, medications and medical supplies, providing the physiological support necessary for high performance.
In the preparation phase, more than 700 medical interventions and 250 nutritional assessments were carried out.

In addition, understanding the importance of emotional well-being, 18 workshops on a sense of belonging were carried out and 1,400 specialized psychological services were provided.
