The COE keeps two provinces on alert; one in yellow

El COE mantiene dos provincias en alerta; una en amarrilla

Santo Domingo.- The Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported that it maintains one province on yellow alert and one on green alert, due to some increases in cloudiness with scattered rains, isolated thunderstorms and gusts of wind, product of the remnants associated with a frontal system.

The province on yellow alert is Samaná and in green is Puerto Plata.

In addition, it recommended that people refrain from crossing rivers, streams and ravines that have high volumes of water in the provinces under alert.

According to the bulletin of the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (INDOMET), these climatic conditions could generate flooding of rivers, streams and ravines, as well as sudden or urban floods, mainly in the northwest, north, northeast, southeast regions, the border area. and the Central Mountain Range.

Likewise, a slight decrease in temperatures is expected, especially in mountainous areas and inland valleys, due to the effects of the frontal system.
