According to the president of the UAD, Heraldo Suero, now what we have are estimates, so we have to wait for the waters to recede, the rice to be cut and taken to the mills, to evaluate the impact of the rains.
“The prudent thing is to wait. “To answer now about the damage would be to speculate,” he said.
Given the alarm over the effects of the rains on agriculture, Limber Cruz recalled on Monday that the country has made positive progress in the rice harvest, with more than 90% of the rice production already harvested.
To this Suero reiterated that despite the impact of the rains, the cereal will be available as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture.

According to statements, the rains have affected several rice-producing areas and it is estimated that in Bajo Yuna some 40,000 tasks have suffered damage. At the national level, it is estimated that around 120,000 tasks of rice have been affected.
