The leader of the Peruvian economy, Dina Boluarte, stated that the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Forum took significant steps towards a vision of economic growth and resilience in this region, by adopting key deliverables.
These words were offered during the inauguration of the APEC Leaders’ retreat, which takes place in Lima, at the Convention Center, in the San Borja district.
“We are united by the common commitment to economic growth and resilience in our region, in this context it is important to highlight that APEC has taken significant steps towards that vision by adopting key deliverables,” he said.
He said these include the development and implementation of low-carbon hydrogen policy frameworks in the Asia Pacific, “critical to the transition to greener economies”.
Likewise, he said that the second most important is the set of principles to reduce and prevent food loss and waste, “a challenge that affects our environmental and economic sustainability.”
“These achievements are a testament to our collective commitment, however today we must focus on how to implement these advances ensuring that they contribute meaningfully to our inclusive economic agenda, especially in our efforts to support our transition to a formal and global economy,” said.
In that sense, he called on the leaders of the other APEC member economies to participate in today’s discussions with a future-oriented perspective.
“Our agenda today is designed to address key issues that will shape the future of our economies and citizens, we will discuss the role of digitalization and innovation in the transition from the formal and global economy, as well as the importance of our joint efforts to navigate today’s global challenges,” he added.
