HOLY SUNDAY. – The Emergency Operations Center (COE) reported that according to today’s meteorological bulletin, from the Dominican Institute of Meteorology (Indomet), it establishes that a frontal system located over the country will be causing moderate to heavy downpours.
Likewise, the institution reported that there are 16 provinces on alert, of which 9 are on yellow and 7 on green alert.
“The local effects will continue causing moderate to strong downpour activity locally with isolated thunderstorms, in the rest of the day until late at night, mainly over provinces of the Atlantic coastal coast, the Cibao valley, the eastern plain and the Eastern mountain range. . Puerto Plata, Santiago, Espaillat, Hermanas Mirabal, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel, Duarte, María Trinidad Sánchez, Samaná, Hato Mayor, El Seibo, La Altagracia, San Pedro de Macorís, El Gran Santo Domingo, Monte Plata and San Cristóbal”, says the report.

The provinces that are on yellow alert are; Samaná, La Altagracia, Duarte (especially lower Yuna), El Seíbo, Hermanas Mirabal, Espaillat, Puerto Plata, María Trinidad Sánchez and Hato Mayor. While the provinces that are on green alert are; Monseñor Noue, La Vega, Monte Plata, San José de Ocoa, Montecristi and San Pedro de Macorís
