The president of Medical College Dominican (CMD), Waldo Ariel Sueroreported this Friday that, after holding a meeting with the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, both parties agreed on 90% of the doctors’ demands, including a staggered salary increase of 25%, rendering the strike of 96% null and void. hours called from November 19.
Suero reiterated that, of all the points raised, the increase to the doctors was the one with the greatest weight, so, initially, they requested 70% and from which they received a primary proposal of 10%, an action that was rejected by the doctors and which motivated the call for a strike.

“We are happy with the decision, it was a triumph for the medical class“said the pediatric cardiologist.
Suero indicated that, in practical terms, the increase is 28.4% because, although it is staggered, the new percentages will be added to the salary former.
“It must be taken into account that this was achieved agreement in the middle of a economic crisisbecause we all know that the country is immersed in the middle of a economic crisis and that was achieved increase without tax reform,” he highlighted.
