So far this year the Dominican Association of Teachers, (ADP) has carried out dozens of strikes nationwide that have affected the teaching of at least 2.6 million students, of the Initial, Primary, Secondary and Adult Modality levels.

Provinces where the ADP has carried out strikes

Saint Dominic, May 2024 : The ADP has carried out several strikes and demonstrations in the capital, including a major march on May 1 towards the Ministry of Labor.

Greater Santo Domingo, November 2024: In addition to the strikes in the capital, the ADP has held regional rallies in Greater Santo Domingo along with other organizations, such as a joint rally held in the vicinity of the Ministry of Education, on Wednesday, November 6.

“That in many cases alters the productive dynamics of mothers and fathers,” said the teacher regarding the impact of the strikes on public education.

On her side the psychiatrist Alexandra Hichez He assures that the situation not only affects the school dynamics, but “causes trauma to the student.”
