This Friday, Brazil called up full-backs Dodo, from Fiorentina, and Alex Telles, from Botafogo, to replace the suspended Vanderson and the injured Guilherme Arana in the match they will play next Tuesday with Uruguay in the World Cup qualifiers.
The Brazilian team will host the Uruguay team in the city of Salvador for the twelfth day of the South American qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The substitutions were announced by the Brazilian coach, Dorival Júnior, who already landed with the ‘Canarinha’ in the Bahian capital after the 1-1 draw he achieved on his visit to Venezuela on Thursday in Maturín.
According to the statement from the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), the new players will join the team this Friday directly in Salvador.
In the match with Venezuela, Vanderson received his second yellow card, so he will have to serve a suspension date, and Arana suffered an ankle injury even before the game so he was not even on the substitutes’ bench.
