The APEC Forum is being developed in Peru and has brought together the leaders of the most important economies in the world, the most notable being the presence of Joe Bidenpresident of the United States and Xi Jinping, president of Chinawho after their arrival in Lima, had their first meeting with President Dina Boluarte.
Xi Jinping has not only arrived in Peru to be part of APEC, but also to inaugurate the Chancay megaport. Besides, Biden has not registered, to date, a state visit, but it is known that agreements have been signed between NASA and Conida to collaborate in the new Talara Space Port.
All the details of the meeting between Joe Biden and Dina Boluarte
It could be seen that Dina Boluarte does not know English, as if previous presidents (Pedro Pablo Kuczynski or Francisco Sagasti) did, so she had to use a translator to be able to communicate with Joe Biden.
Boluarte’s words were quite general, where he thanked the president of the United States for his presence in Peru and invited him to strengthen economic, technological and commercial ties between both nations.
For his part, Biden made more relevant announcements such as $65 million in assistance to Peru over the next 5 years, which includes the delivery of helicopters and the training of more than 130 pilots and technicians. In addition, he highlighted the recent expansion of space cooperation with the signing of the memorandum of understanding between Conida and NASA, with which the process is being initiated to establish a sounding rocket launch program for scientific purposes and the accession of Peru to the Artemisa Accords.
On the other hand, Biden also thanked the current Government for the alleged fight against illicit drug trafficking, which he described as a “mutual concern.”
