The Public Ministry (MP) through a statement regretted the death of citizen Jesús Martínez, who had been preventively detained since August 2 for his participation in the violent acts committed after the electoral process of July 28, 2024, which left the unfortunate figure of 28 people dead, nearly 200 injured and 500 public and private property destroyed.
The prisoner of liberty died this Thursday morning at the Luis Razetti hospital, located in Barcelona (Anzoátegui).
This person, despite being preventively deprived of liberty, was hospitalized at the Luis Razetti Medical Center in the state of Anzoátegui since October 11, due to suffering from type 2 Diabetes. It is worth noting that throughout that time he had proper medical care. and he was given the medications and other treatments that his health condition warranted, according to the statement released by the MP.
It should be noted that the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported that the Public Ministry requested this Friday the review of 225 detention measures of the cases related to violent actions carried out by the so-called commandos after the electoral process of July 28, 2024, which left the unfortunate number of 28 people dead, nearly 200 injured and 500 public and private property destroyed.
